Licensing Requests
If you are a filmmaker or production wishing to contact Rachel’s regarding licensing and other related topics please read this first. We try to work with as many people as possible but it really helps to share our basic approach.
GENERAL STANDARDS FOR RACHEL’S LICENSE AGREEMENT
In order for Rachel’s and Quarterstick/Touch & Go Records to consider a license request, a written proposal of the use must first be received along with a plot synopsis and/or script, and a link to the clip of film usage with music placed.
In cases of a Free to Festivals agreement, all films will be shown in a private, festival or educational environment. Any further licensing by the requestor to any commercial entity will require a new license contract.
Written permission from Rachel’s and agent for Quarterstick must be provided to the requestor before the film or dance is shown to the public.
Requirements for most dance or live performance requests:
written proposal in advance of show dates
written permission from Rachel’s/Quarterstick before public performance
maximum usage of (3) separate songs
no editing beyond fade in/fade out
written credit in the printed program for the performance listing the following
